How Cross-Chain Technology Works

Cross-chain technology facilitates the seamless transfer of assets and information between blockchains using specialized tools:

  • Cross-Chain Bridges: These bridges enable the transfer of assets, such as tokens, from one blockchain to another. For example, you can use a bridge to move Solana (SOL) tokens to another blockchain, unlocking access to decentralized applications (dApps) and services not available on the Solana network.
  • Atomic Swaps: This approach allows direct token exchanges between two parties on separate blockchains without relying on a centralized exchange. Atomic swaps are designed to ensure safety; if the transaction isn’t completed by both parties, it is canceled automatically, protecting both sides.
